Daily maintenance and care of the granite surface plate
How to Self-Repair and Maintain Scratches or Small Pits on the surface plate During Use
I. Self-Repair Methods (Only for Minor Damage; Professional Treatment Recommended for Depth > 0.5mm)
1. Scratch Repair: Use 800-1500 grit water sandpaper dipped in clean water to gently grind the scratched area. Polish in the order of "coarse to fine" until the scratch disappears, then use sandpaper with 2000+ grit for fine polishing. Finally, wipe the surface clean with a dry cloth.
2. Small Pit Repair: Select epoxy-based granite repair agent matching the platform color, fill the pit and smooth the surface. Allow it to cure for 24 hours (standard curing time), then follow the scratch repair steps for grinding and polishing.
II. Daily Maintenance Tips
- Avoid direct impact or dragging of sharp tools and heavy objects. Place workpieces gently.
- Regularly wipe the surface with clean water and a soft cloth to remove dust and oil stains. Do not use corrosive cleaners (e.g., strong acids, strong alkalis).
- When not in use for a long time, cover with a dust-proof cloth and store in a dry, well-ventilated environment to avoid moisture or drastic temperature changes.
